Why it runs in your browser
Most file tools upload your document to a server, process it there and send it back. That means a stranger's machine holds your file, however briefly. This tool does the work locally using JavaScript, so nothing is transmitted. You can check: load the page, turn off your internet, and it still works.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. The merge happens inside your browser using JavaScript, so the files never travel to a server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but very large files are held in your device's memory while merging, so several hundred megabytes at once may be slow on an older phone.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Usually not. A PDF encrypted with an open password cannot be read without it. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then merge.
