Convert an image format
Turn JPG, PNG and WebP into one another, in the browser.
Files never leave your browseror drag them here
How to use it
- Choose the images you want to convert.
- Pick the output format. WebP gives the smallest files; PNG is the one that keeps a transparent background.
- Click Convert and each file downloads in the new format.
Why it runs in your browser
Most file tools upload your document to a server, process it there and send it back. That means a stranger's machine holds your file, however briefly. This tool does the work locally using JavaScript, so nothing is transmitted. You can check: load the page, turn off your internet, and it still works.
Frequently asked questions
Which format should I choose?
WebP for the web, since it is usually 25-35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality. JPG for maximum compatibility with older software. PNG when you need transparency or crisp text and line art.
Why did my transparent background turn white?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white when converting. Convert to PNG or WebP to keep it.
Does converting lose quality?
Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP re-encodes the image, which loses a little detail - usually invisible at the 90% quality used here.
