Is my PNG file uploaded to convert it?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on a canvas element. The file is read into memory, converted and offered as a download without ever being sent anywhere.
Will converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP re-encodes the image and discards a little detail, which is almost always invisible at the 92% quality used here.
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep it.
